Del'Aziz Bermondsey (11 Bermondsey Square, London, London, SE1 3UN) I dined here twice last week as very convenient to my hotel. I am surprised by the negative reviews as I found the food and service to be excellent. £19.50 for a three course dinner is excellent value and on both evening the staff were pleasant and attentive. I would definately dine here again.

Hart's Restaurant (Standard Hill, Park Row, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, NG1 6GN) I dined at this restaurant yesterday, having visited Hambleton Hall on several occasions and with the same owner I had high expectations. I wasn't disappointed the food was excellent. I started with the Harts Salad, simple but delicious perfect for the warm weather. For main I opted for the Monk Fish, the fish was cooked to perfection but it didn't need the chicken nugget in my opinion as the potatoes and salsa were beautiful. Sadly no time for desert but I shall return. Service was relaxed and in the most part attentive. Good value for money and in a good location on minutes from the City Centre and adjacent to the Castle.

Restaurant Martin Wishart (54 The Shore, Leith, Edinburgh, Central Scotland, EH6 6RA) I dined at the restaurant on Tuesday; I was very impressed that I could book online, especially as I only booked on the Monday when the restaurant was closed. I also received a telephone call in the morning to confirm my reservation. Other restaurants in Edinburgh take note. The atmosphere was relaxed but elegant, a good value lunch options was available but my guest and I selected the A la Carte. For starter my guest had the Kilbrannan Scallops and Bellota Ham, which looked delightful and I choose the Scallop Risotto Special, which was superb. For main course I selected Loin of Borders Roe Deer, which melted in the mouth and my guest choose Braised Beef Cheek, Pumpkin Seed Brittle, which I am told was excellent. I admitted to knowing very little about wine but our Sommelier was very helpful and selected some beautiful wines for us and didn't make me feel in the least intimidated. Desert was equally as good. I couldn't fault this restaurant. To say it was a Tuesday lunch time the restaurant had a good atmosphere, with guest taking advantage of either the tasting menu, or reasonably priced lunch menu in equal measure. I look forward to returning when next in Edinburgh.

Briscola (88 Palmerston Street, Bollington, Cheshire, SK10 5PW) I have dined here on a number of occassion and always found the food & service excellent. Your reviewer is correct this is a very child friendly restaurant and excellent value for money. Everytime I have visted even mid week it has been busy and has a great reputation amongst the locals. I shall be visiting again next month and I live in Northamptonshire!

I visited the Aviator for lunch today and would thoroughly recommend the restaurant and from what I saw the hotel. Service was friendly and I loved the look and feel of the hotel. The attention to detail in the decor is excellent; this would be an ideal venue for business lunch as it is minutes from the M3. I opted for the Chefs recommendation shoulder of lamb, saffron cous cous and Moroccan spiced jus it was delicious and full of flavour at £14.50 it is also very good value. Bread was served with a goats cheese and tomato accompaniment; this was a nice touch and delicious. I look forward to returning to this hotel and next time I intend to stay.

Whatley Manor (Easton Grey, Malmesbury, Wiltshire, SN16 0RB) My husband & I ate in the more informal Le Mazot; which as it promises recreates the warmth of a Swiss chalet and serves delicious high quality food. Service was friendly and attentive throughout and we felt it was excellent value for money. Whether you opt for the Dining Room with its two Michelin Stars or Le Mazot my best advice would be to stay; Whatley Manor is one of the finest hotels in the country and is worthy of its reputation. The bedrooms are beautiful and the gardens magnificent. Those of you that do stay overnight must have the ‘black pudding’ for breakfast on my husbands recommendation. We are already looking forward to our return visit!

Auberge du Lac (Brocket Hall, Welwyn, Hertfordshire, AL8 7XG) I had the most wonderful lunch at Auberge du Lac worthy of a Michelin Star if I were to judge. The food service and atmosphere was excellent, i can't wait to return.

A beautiful hotel with lots of character; I stayed mid week and the food and service in the restaurant was excellent. The Summer fruit pudding was delicious; alas our summer wasn't!
