The House (63-69 Canonbury Road, London, London, N1 2DG) Although the atmosphere of this nice little corner gastro pub is pleasant, I would more put this down to the crowd it draws and not from the management. A snooty and grumpy staff is fair enough if you're actually a 5 star establishment. When the service is rubbish and the food almost inedible they should be trying ALOT harder. If a ‘gastro-pub’ is going to charge upwards of £15 for pub food, it damn well better be good. Burgers with Aldi buns and simply iceberg lettuce for a ‘side salad’ and solitary portions of luke-warm reheated cottage pie is unacceptable in my opinion. I will NOT be revisiting ‘The House’ and would hope that anyone who does steers well clear of the overpriced crappy food.
