Axis at One Aldwych (One Aldwych Hotel, 1 Aldwych, London, London, WC2B 4RH) Axis at One Aldwych is well and truly one of the hidden gems of London. Not over priced, not too fussy and great value for money. This restaurant must be one of the most under rated places in London and makes me wonder does the Michelin guide give stars out to chefs with more of a well known ‘reputation’ or because of who they've previously worked with? (Jason Atherton, Heston, etc.) The staff were all very attentive, helpful and polite. Service was not rushed and was at a steady pace where we were given enough time to digest each course then look forward to the next. The food was a mixture of courses from the aged rib-eye to the sea bass and the impeccable venison this dinner had it all. Head Chef Tony Fleming should be applauded for his consistency in his dishes as well as his fine attention to detail. If you're looking for a great meal, excellent service and an atmosphere where it is smart but casual as well as non stuffy then head to Axis. Cannot recommend this place enough
