Phoenix Palace (5 Glentworth Street, London, NW1 5PG)

This is one of my neighbourhood favourites. Even though the location is ‘whatever’, and the decor is dated, the food is always very good. It's always packed with large chinese groups and sometimes you'll have to wait for up to half hour for dim sum lunch on weekends, but it's worth it. Food is always good and my husband and I go at least once a week for a quick after work dinner, or a leisurely saturday lunch.

Oslo Court (Prince Albert Road (corner of Charlbert Street), London, NW8 7EN)

Goodness me, even the walls and the floor are pink!
The atmosphere is this: if you like being the only non-pensioner in a restaurant which resembles a tacky cruise ship then Oslo Court is definately for you.
And even if one disregards the tasteless surroundings and the sloppy service: the food is plain and simple disgusting at this restaurant!
I never use this word to describe food but this is what Oslo Court deserves. As soon as we sat down my husband noticed the length of the menu: only a restaurant with pre frozen food and lots of microwaves in the kitchen can offer such a huge and non seasonal menu. Everything we ordered tasted pre cooked and bland and we felt like pigs being fed by a troff. The portions are gianormous, the food barely edible. Maybe they cover everything in sauce so it goes down more easily. I am not sure what kind of person is standing in the kitchen laddeling sauce after sauce lovelessly over microwaved fish and meat, but these people are lucky Oslo Court is still open. Once the pensioners are gone, this restaurant will close for sure, or finally join everybody else in the new millenium, but it will be too late. Insult to injury came when I asked for pineapple for dessert and was brought pineapple rings from the can! My husband's face was priceless, since, him being greek and used to fresh fruit or no fruit, he has never ever seen a canned pineapple ring offered in a restaurant!
I simply can not understand how anybody in their right state of mind can rave about their dining experience there.
HORRID!
