Amani (322 Limpsfield Road, Hemsey Green, Sanderstead, Surrey, CR2 9BX) The cooking, both in terms of quality and creativity, is comparable to many of the more renowned high-end Indian establishments in the centre of town and the restaurant itself is well decorated and maintained. The staff are attentive and discreet. The location is a little out of the way but this is certainly worth a diversion if you are in the area. A mixed grill starter contained definite highlights including delicately flavoured, tender lamb chops and mint and coriander chicken with great precision of flavour. All mains were excellent: a fresh and crisp okra side dish, rajasthani lamb with great heat and depth, and an outstanding king prawn curry that would not have been out of place at the chef's alma mater, The Cinnamon Club.
