Mint Leaf (Suffolk Place, Haymarket, London, SW1Y 4HX)

I had dinner here last night, and I was really pleased, the staff were very helpful and knew what they were talking about, I went with three other friends, and we tried some lovely dishes, such as the duck and bhoonas, the food was out timely, and the wine was wonderful, its a great venue and would be perfect for large bookings or a party, great place for a first date, as it has a great atmospehre and great mood lighting, I will be back again. It is quite pricey though, so get someone else to pay!

Refuel at The Soho Hotel (The Soho Hotel, 4 Richmond Mews, London, London, W1D 3DH)

I love Refuel, this is a great Soho secret hidden away in the Soho Hotel, and once inside you are well and truly looked after. I have eaten here on many occassions now and will always return, the food is delicious and the staff so helpful. Ok its not cheap but you certainly get value for money and it can be a great venue to celeb spot, if you can, book in on a Sunday and watch a film at the cinema on the ground floor after your lunch.

Manicomio (6 Gutter Lane, London, EC2V 8AS)

I used Manicomio this year for our AGM and we were so pleased with our choice, we booked for 40 and everything went to plan, amazing service, amazing food and drink and what a great building. Our guests were from the US and EU and each one thanked us for a great meal.
Jason the manager looked after us from start to finish and every wish was catered for, I would recommend this for hiring our part or the whole building or just a dinner for two, the name Gutter Lane also gave us a giggle, but it is far from in the name it is based in! Go try it, you will be so pleased you did.
We had a bean and meat salad to start, black faced lamb for mains, and icecream and berries for dessert plus lots of wine which really complemented the meal.

Dean Street Townhouse & Dining Room (69-71 Dean Street, London, London, W1D 3SE)

I love the Dean Street Townhouse, the intimate setting is wonderful and if required you can always request the private room for 10, the venue feels like you are in a stately home, but with a Soho twist. They have opened up the front for summer with tables, chairs and umbrellas plus heating if you want to people watch.
The food is wonderful, the service spot on, just remember to book in advance as it always seems to be fully booked especially on a Friday lunchtime.

Red Fort (77 Dean Street, London, W1D 3SH)

Wonderful restaurant and the renovation since last years fire next door has done wonders to the place.
The food is wonderful, just remember to ask for the set menu if you want to try lots of lovely dishes for a really great price, esp as the waiting staff will not naturally put it on the table.
This is a great place for a large group or intimate dinner, highly recommended, I have been here about 6 times now, and the food is always spot on.

Restaurant Critic

The Clerkenwell Kitchen (27-31 Clerkenwell Close, London, EC1R 0AT)

This restaurant is well hidden and off a lot of peoples radars due to the location but not only is this place packed everylunch time it is wonderful in the evening. It has wonderful seasonal dishes and as it all has a home made kind of feel you feel very healthy eating here. They have a great outside space to the back for the smokers and an earthy relaxed feel inside.
Well worth a visit you will not be disappointed

Quaglino's (16 Bury Street, London, SW1Y 6AJ)

I had my birthday meal in here last year on a Saturday night, there were 6 of us and to be honest I was really disappointed, the food is nice and the staff were friendly but I just felt like we were in a great big fish bowl.
You have to go down steep stairs to get to the main dining room and in heels this was a slow process.
We were sat in the middle of the room and we all felt like we were being over listened and looked at for the whole meal. I had wanted to eat here since the late 90's at the height of its fame, but I think it needs a re-vamp as it is a little tired now and not as glamorous as I was expecting.

Princi (135 Wardour Street, London, W1F 0UT)

What is great about this venue is that the staff are actually all Italian so it feels very authentic, there is no menu as such you just stand anywhere at the counter, try to get the attention of a server and they will server you a meal that you choose from in front of you, they can also do hot pasta dishes by request.
The food is amazing and is perfect place for lunch although it would not be suitable for a client lunch it is fun to pop to with friends.
The staff helped us with a large takeaway menu and they were incredibly helpful, along with the very helpful managers this has to be a try all venue and the cheesecake is to die for, its always busy at lunch so get there early if you want a table, will go again!

Cote Wardour Street (124-126 Wardour Street, London, London, W1F 0TY)

I love this restaurant the staff are helpful and friendly and the food is divine, they do a great ‘Quick Lunch’ menu and it is always out in time so that you can have lunch out in your hour lunch break, I have now eaten here about six times as the steak and moules are divine, it is not expensive and great for people watching.
Well worth a visit

C London (formerly Cipriani) (23-25 Davies Street, London, W1K 3DE)

I and my sister took my father and mother here for his 60th Birthday and we were not disappointed, friends have dismissed this venue, but we really enjoyed it, they do turn tables and it is a rowdy affair but the food is wonderful if not very expensive, we paid well over £600 for 6 diners and that was for a main course and wine.
It is certainly worth a visit once, especially if someone else is paying, we didnt spot any celebritys but it is full of authentic Italians eating so that has to be a good sign of the quality of food!

Asia de Cuba at St Martins Lane Hotel (St Martins Lane Hotel, 45 St Martin's Lane, London, London, WC2N 4HX)

This is my favourite venue in London, we went for our work Xmas meal last year and what a treat, there were 11 of us and we were all sat on a lovely large round table which made interaction and conversation between us so much easier.
It was simple to book and we were offered the exclusive guest/diners bar beforehand for delicious cocktails.
The food is delicious and there is something for everyone as we have a couple in the party who don't eat fish, but they were equally delighted with the choice.
This is a lively venue and very entertaining on every level, I just wish that dining then entitled you entrance to Bungalow 8, but overally a truly fantastic place to eat and so convenient for central London

The Ivy (1-5 West Street, London, London, WC2H 9NQ)

I took my mother here for mothers day, and we had a stunning meal, we had all wanted to try out this fine dining experience after much celebrity hype and we were not disappointed, great selection of food, we chose the set menu which was delicious and the price was reasonable for six of us, we were seated in a fantastic round table near to the window.
The service was impeccable and to finish off our lunch we bumped into Melanie C of Spice Girls Fame in the Ladies!
We did book three months in advance but this was only because we knew mothering Sunday would be a fully booked affair, I hear other people have chanced it and have got lucky, also a lovely touch as the door staff have green bowler hats!

Circus (27-29 Endell Street, London, WC2H 9BA)

I celebrated my 30th Birthday here on a Saturday, and once seated we were told by the female waiting staff ‘You need to order now we want the table back at 9pm’ incredibly rude, as we knew we had the table from 7-9pm. We chose one main course only, as that is the only time we had! The food overall was good, although my medium steak was a little burnt, my friends dishes were nice, but not worth the £16+ price tag plus sides.
The Circus acts were interesting, the flexi girls were great, but the Brazilian dancers were a little odd, seeing as it was a circus theme.
Overall ok to try once, but I and my friends will not be going back
