Read the thread June 2010Isn't it glorious!
My fave – the hidden gem that is Rotunda Restaurant at Kings Place. It has the most fab spot right on the canal – perfect for a post work Pimms and even better for a BBQ… More
Read the thread January 2010As the person tasked with organising all of our office and client events, it is a recurring nightmare for me to have to think up innovative and fitting playlists to suit private dinners and parties. For some i'm let off the hook by booking live entertainment, a quartet or a band of some sort, but for other not so fitting occasions i'm lumbered with the seemingly huge responsibility of sorting the evenings ipod playlist. I say huge because in my experience, music can make or break an event, it can keep the tempo up at a Christmas dinner or party, or some low level background music can keep the mood relaxed at a more formal dinner, not least can it fill any potentially awkward silences between guests.
Does anyone know of any services whereby i can buy playlists for events? Is there a one stop shop for all of my musical conundrums? Any ideas more than welcome…
Thanks in advance!

Read the thread January 2010Hi Simon,
Totally agree with the top 3 although i'd say the Hurlingham could come a bit higher.
Not sure that Graphic Bar could be ranked in the top ten though…there are masses of fabulous West End bars and whilst I agree it is a really good space, as those kind of venues go in that area you can't go wrong with bars like Floridita, Soho House, Kettners, The Parlour at Sketch etc…? More
Read the thread December 2009I've been tasked with organising a very very lasy minute Christmas dinner for some of our clients (may well have to move it into January)! I want to do it properly though with written invitations, I always think they are far better recieved (and remembered) than an email invite. Does anyone have a ‘go-to’ invitation specialist but one that can do them in small quantities, i'll only need about 20? Also, I'd like to have the set menus styled in the same way as the invitations, I find if I leave it to in house they tend to be printed off in Times New Roman on flimsy paper!
Any ideas welcome!
Thanks,

Read the thread December 2009Greens have a nice private whisky tasting area in the City venue, I hear that the whisky is actually brewed at the owners own little distillery! Try Jeroboams too, I've been to an event there and they have a dedicated whisky tasting cellar and can offer a bespoke service whereby they tailor each event to their clients specific needs. More
Read the thread July 2009I've heard about that too – it's going to be a temporary structure inside the power station – sounds amazing. It'll be up for about 3 years from September this year but i don't know any more details than that i'm afraid… More
