Hunan (51 Pimlico Road, London, SW1W 8NE)

i have been going here all my life, without a shadow of a doubt my favorite chinese restaurant in london. the owner recognises us whenever we go in even if we havent been in a year. no menu is necessary, he just asks us what sort of things we want then brings out many small dishes for us to work our way through. im not a fan of regular chinese restaurants but this takes the cuisine to the next level.

Roussillon (16 St Barnabas Street, London, SW1W 8PE)

had the tasting menu here, food was absolutely incredible, and well deserving of their michelin star. service was also impeccable. unfortunately the atmosphere isnt so good, a bit dry. when comparing it to the rustic french restaurant La Poule au Pot in nearby orange square, although the food in la poule au pot isnt quite as original i would choose it over roussillon 9 times out of 10.

Boisdale of Belgravia (15 Eccleston Street, London, SW1W 9LX)

great atmosphere, try and go on one of the nights when they have live jazz. I only ever have steak for a main, definitely up there with the best i've had in london. a favorite starter is the scallops with haggis, rosemary mash, crispy bacon and redcurrant jus, all goes together amazingly. since they've opened their smoking terrace i think its now probably my favorite local watering hole, not much more than a pub for a pint and you can sit outside in comfort. great whisky selection for after dinner as well.

Asia de Cuba at St Martins Lane Hotel (St Martins Lane Hotel, 45 St Martin's Lane, London, WC2N 4HX)

I have been going to Asia de Cuba for a number of years now. Many birthdays and other special occasions have been celebrated there. the atmosphere is amazing, decor faultless. The round table in the far corner is a personal favorite. The coctail menu has new twists on old favorites. I've eaten out in london a lot and havent found anywhere with a menu quite like this, the calamari and banana salad and the slow roasted pork are particular favorites, the wagyu beef is also very good. im a big fan of the sharing idea, its a much more interactive and social experience than simply getting your dish and eating it, also getting to try way more dishes is always nice.

it is pretty pricey but i definitely think the experience is worth the cost. i hope they'll keep doing the same thing they have done for years, for years to come.
