The Luxe (109 Commercial Street, London, London, E1 6BG) What a shame! Visited the upstairs restaurant and will not be coming back due to bad attiude of the manageress, who was far more concerned with the compliiments from her friends then resolving a customer complaint. All started well with delicious bread, then we were refused tap water, they don't do it, but have filter water for 50p. This is the attitude of the place in a nutshell! Next we had scallops and squid with mache and a bit of chilli and it was fantastic, perfectly cooked and the dressing lifted the dish superbly. To follow we had ordered from the two share menu “Roast Chicken with Lavender and Five Spice” for £28 pounds, when it arrived it was half a small chicken with boil in the bag rice. So £56 pounds for a whole chicken! Certainly not what I was expecting and I dont thing anyone would consider that a share dish, a quater of a chicken each? What's to share? There are better places to go around here that value customers and often service and food together!
