Reply to “Greenhouse or Rousillon? Birthday meal” (in Recommend me a restaurant or a bar)

Funnily enough I am having the exact same dilemma and have booked both restaurants in the hope that I'll be inspired at the last minute. I would have to say that The Square was the most memorable because apart from the food being divine, they made a special effort for my boyfriend's birthday last year. The room is also much warmer than Rousillon which can be quite formal and stuffy. I've recently been to Marcus Wareing and unfortunately it did not live up to its reputation. The service was unbearably slow and the food lacked flair and flavour. I'm trying The Greenhouse in two weeks time after hearing fabulous things about the food and service and will report back.
