With low lighting, great music and an intimate party atmosphere, FFC has the edge on the other chicken shops which litter Coldharbour Lane. On our visit, starting breaded chicken bites were gloriously crispy and chilli-cheese fries were as gooey as you would hope. Don’t miss the Tropical Burger, a juicy, meaty sandwich stacked with chard, pineapple and smoky mayo – make sure to choose thigh over breast for the juiciest bite. If you still have room then hot, fluffy fairground-style doughnuts emerge straight from the fryer and burst with creamy, sweet ricotta and strawberry sauce. Service is friendly but a little bit too relaxed based on our experience, so avoid if you’re in a rush. Cocktails are sweet, fruity and colourful, in keeping with the cheesy theme, while the wine list covers the crowd-pleasers. Come for fully-loaded chicken burgers with dreamy toppings, set to a playlist of pop bangers.
