About

Whether you’re looking for a pre-theatre spot to fill up on great food before heading to the Royal Albert Hall or wanting to experience authentic French cuisine, Le petit Sud is your go-to. Tuck into a classic French dish inside the cosy bistro and wine bar or sip on French wine while lapping up the sunshine on the street side and sit under the awning to stay cool. Inside the bistro, there are two floors of Southern French themed dining spaces with patterned wallpaper, greenery and wine bottle candle holders. Be sure to look up at the intricate and impressive wine glass chandelier.

Found in Central in the Kensington area, opposite Hyde Park, Le petit Sud serves up boards of cheese and charcuterie alongside other classic French dishes that change seasonally. At the weekend, visit the Southern France-inspired wine bar for brunch and choose a luxurious dish such as the lobster benedict or the croque monsieur. The bistro also has a crepe bar, where you can indulge on a French-style pancake with a choice of toppings.

Sip on something from the extensive wine list, serving mostly French wine but also including new world options or enjoy a unique cocktail such as the French Spritz with hibiscus, liquor St Germaine and topped with Prosecco. Start with a chilled watermelon soup and move onto one of the salads, such as the salade de chèvre chaud with goat’s cheese on toast atop a bed of spinach, honey, grapes, and nuts.  Other options include lamb cutlets, truffle gnocchi or the Le petit Sud favourite, the grilled octopus, drizzled in olive oil and served on a chickpea puree with espelette pepper. For dessert, dig into a lavender crème brûlée or dark chocolate mousse.

Le petit Sud also runs specials for you to take advantage of. Look out for Raclette Sundays where you can get your dose of dairy with the Swiss cheese melted over charcuterie and potatoes together with a glass of vino. Between 5-8pm every day, celebrate the end of a hard day at the office with 2-4-1 cocktails while on Thursdays it’s ladies night, featuring bottomless Champagne from 7-9pm.
