About

The Montagu Kitchen, at Hyatt Regency The Churchill, is a versatile brasserie where guests and non-guests alike can enjoy all-day dining, Sunday brunch and afternoon tea. Perch by the lively open kitchen, or settle in at a table by the huge, floor-to-ceiling windows under the chandelier. Either way, you’ll be surrounded by plants and modern furnishings in this stylish dining room. The team has created an ingredient-driven menu, focusing on the finest seasonal British produce. As such, the menu changes regularly, but you can rest assured what you are served will be delicious.

There’s plenty of choice on the all-day menu here, so guests can dine as they please. Those visiting for a quick lunch might start with a soup of the day, then tuck into the house club sandwich or Montagu flatbread. Those staying for longer, or perhaps celebrating, might instead start off with half a dozen rock oysters or chicken liver parfait with sourdough crisp. From there, you’ll find lavish main courses like the Sussex wagyu rib or corn-fed free-range baby chicken - both grilled. The signature dessert here is the sticky toffee pudding, although the other options are also worth trying, including a chocolate and hazelnut sphere with coffee Anglaise.

In the mornings, there is a hearty breakfast offering to be enjoyed. Healthier options include fruit salad, sliced avocado and a ‘bounty’ bowl, while more indulgent options include French toast with mascarpone, coffee and cream. There are quite a few ways you can have your eggs, including with a side of lobster, hollandaise, truffle mayo, avocado, baby spinach or feta. Afternoon tea is also available here, featuring a brilliant selection of savouries and sweets, accompanied by Prosecco or Champagne. As a bonus, any booking at The Montagu Kitchen can earn you 100 SquareMeal points, which can be exchanged for gifts or discounts.

Booked here to celebrate our 30th Wedding anniversary. The staff were friendly and very helpful with regards to the wine selection. Service was extremely efficient. The food overall was very good. To start we had Pigeon breast, bacon, baby gem lettuce, olive oil emulsion. Main course my husband ordered the rib eye beef which he found very tasty while I ordered the Dover sole, sautéed potatoes, lemon butter with brocoli. Suprisingly the pigeon was tough to cut but not to chew and was very nice, the dover sole I ordered was dissapointing, it was extremely salty and over seasoned. For desert we both had icecream which was tasty. We did mention to the waitress that the dover sole was salty and she said she would tell the chef, however we did not want to create any fuss on this special occasion and the rest of the meal was faultless. Make sure you taste the bread, it is the best I have tasted and crusty.
