This Brixton restaurant-cum-boutique is courtesy of Apprentice star and former Miss Jamaica, April Jackson. While her former career may not appear relevant, she’s been blogging about food and running her own (popular) supper club series which, combined with her entrepreneurial skills, give her every chance of success with this latest project. Jackson has called in plenty of favours: former head chef of Nobu, Lloyd Roberts, has sorted the kitchen layout while the cocktail menu has been put together by former bar manager of Aqua at The Shard’s Vital Petiot (and includes an Aloe Vera Daiquiri and a very tasty rum punch). The cooking, however, is very much April’s doing, with the likes of yam gnocchi with oxtail ragu and banana cake with salted caramel and rum frosting.
