About Trinity House

Trinity House is a grand Georgian venue in a prime location in central London, close to the City and with links to Tower Hill and Fenchurch Street. As the official authority for lighthouses and a maritime charity, nautical references can be found throughout the decor, including maritime paintings, ship models and the brass bell from the royal yacht Britannia.

Designed by Samuel Wyatt in 1794, the building showcases a stunning neo-classical facade - one of many period features - which make for a beautiful backdrop for any celebration. Trinity House welcomes event bookings and has proudly been hosting parties since 1994. The venue offers five function rooms, some of which boast views of the Tower of London and overlook Trinity Square Gardens.

Each elegant room is multi-purpose, surrounded by impressive portraits and high windows. The Court Room is particularly special, with a ceiling fresco by artist William Holman Hunt and large windows which bathe the space in natural light. Here, there is capacity for 60 people for a sit-down meal or up to 120 for a drinks reception.

The most spacious room is the Library, overlooked by the minstrel’s gallery, which has a capacity for up to 120 people for a sit-down meal and 180 when standing. These two larger south-facing rooms both offer adjoining break-out rooms for tea and coffee. The Luncheon Room, along with the Reading Room, is ideal for more intimate meetings or workshops with room for between 20 to 40 people.

Exclusive hire of the entire house is available and allows guests to take full advantage of the distinguished interiors and facilities. There is also the flexibility to choose a combination of various rooms according to your needs, whether you need breakout space for an away day or somewhere to eat lunch. The team at Trinity House are able to help with organising catering services, as well as all the other finer details.

Please note that Trinity House is closed annually in August due to events being hosted.

Testimonials For Trinity House

Beautiful interiors and view of the Tower of LondonOCTOBER, 2022

We absolutely loved our wedding at Trinity House and would highly recommend it. From the moment we visited and saw the beautiful interiors and view of the Tower of London and Trinity Square Gardens, we knew we had found the perfect venue for a London wedding. The Library was the ideal size for the ceremony and the ornate Court Room was a very special setting for our drinks reception. The venue as a whole is stunning yet still feels very relaxed and intimate, with the different parts of the day flowing well through the various rooms. Natasha and Zoe were wonderful throughout the whole process and put us at ease from the start with their knowledge and experience. They ensured our day went as smoothly as possible and were always responsive and helpful. They also suggested lovely little details that made the day extra special, such as having a first celebratory drink after the ceremony in private in the Reading Room and ringing the bell from the Royal Yacht Britannia to announce our arrival into the Court Room to our guests. Trinity House is a truly memorable venue and we could not imagine a better place for a London wedding ceremony.

Zoe expertly guided us throughoutSEPTEMBER, 2022

We were fortunate to be married at St Paul's Cathedral in September 2022 and to hold our reception at Trinity House. The rooms provided stunning settings – our drinks reception was held in the Court Room, our wedding breakfast in the Library Room and our evening band and dancing in the Pepys Room, with drinks and evening food being served from the Reading Room. Dinner was announced by ringing the bell from the Royal Yacht Britannia and we cut our cake using the Trinity House ceremonial sword. There is so much history to this grade I listed building which was of great interest to our 100+ guests. Of particular interest was Royal Charter was granted by Henry VIII in 1514 and the various seafaring rights that were subsequently granted by Elizabeth I and James I in the 1500-1600s. We could not have been in better hands both in preparing for the reception and the running of it on the day. Zoe is very knowledgeable and expertly guided us throughout. She took much of the strain, planning the various announcements and liaising with the florist, caterers, dance floor company and the band so that the day ran utterly smoothly. We wanted a London wedding and Trinity House, with its backdrop of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, provided exactly that. We could not have been happier.

The rooms are beautiful and completely won us overFEBRUARY, 2022

We had our wedding in February 2022, during the pandemic, and we’d seen a lot of venues before we found Trinity House. The rooms are of course beautiful, and completely won us over. But what made all the difference to our day was Natasha. Whenever I talk about our wedding I never fail to mention how great she was. She answered all of our questions, even ones we didn’t know we had. Natasha was unfailingly patient and kind during the whole planning process, which was all the more complicated because of Covid. She was also very experienced and her advice in dealing with the many vendors involved in our day was always spot on. I remember there were a bunch of last minute things I wanted to provide for our guests, and it got to the point where I didn’t know how to manage it. Natasha found solutions and made it all so much less stressful. And it was wonderful having her friendly face there on the day itself. It was all a bit of a blur but she managed the epic feat of making sure that I and my new husband managed to have a moment to ourselves after the ceremony, which I will never forget. If you’re getting married, do it at Trinity House and get Natasha to manage it for you, I promise you will not regret it!

"It is an amazing venue"SEPTEMBER, 2021

We got married at Trinity House in September 2021. It is an amazing venue that we were lucky to hold our wedding ceremony and drinks reception there. We were looking for a central London venue that was easy for everyone to get to. Tucked behind Trinity Gardens with amazing views of the city (and close to the station for those people travelling in): Trinity House perfectly fit the bill. All our guests loved the historic venue. It was a great conversation starter for people just coming out of lockdown and making their first outing into London after a long time. We particularly enjoyed ringing HMS Britannia ship's bell just because we could. The courtyard at the front was an impressive greeting spot for our guests, and it really helped with logistics with having somewhere for our hire cars to wait. Natasha was wonderful throughout, helping us reschedule and cope with ever changing government regulations, also her suggestion of having the chairs in herringbone layout was a masterstroke, it really enabled our guests to talk to people not just next to each other but rows in front and behind as well. She was also more than happy to accommodate our daft music requests and crisp buffet in the reception, which helped make us more at ease in the grand venue!

Stunning Views of Tower of LondonMARCH, 2019

My husband and I got married at Trinity House in March 2019, it was the perfect place for our special day.  Trinity house was the first place we visited when looking for our venue, it really stood out from the rest. We really wanted a venue with character and not a wedding factory, Trinity House ticked all our boxes.  It is centrally located with stunning views of the Tower of London. The house is so beautiful inside and full of history. There were so many details which made this the most amazing venue from the grand staircase, to the chandeliers, historic artwork, and the ships bell to call everyone in for the wedding breakfast. We really cannot thank Zoe enough for all her help and guidance up to and on the big day. Zoe is so knowledgeable, calm, and was happy to answer any questions we had. We had such an amazing day; everything was perfect, and this was thanks to Zoe and her team.

Because of the rarity of the single-loom carpet depicting the coat of arms of the Corporation of Trinity House in the Court Room, red wine cannot be offered to guests in this room.

Does the venue follow any policies with regard to sustainability?

When a venue is a heritage Grade-I listed building, there are inherent restrictions due to the age of the structure (such as mandatory use of single window panes) but it continues to adopt as many energy-saving practices as are practical and non-invasive. Although it does not offer in-house catering, it looks approvingly at caterers who manage waste responsibly i.e. delivering food waste to registered charities or industrial agencies who employ ‘anaerobic digestion process’ to convert waste into biofuel or fertilisers. It looks carefully at the bookings for opportunities to off-set the inherent carbon emissions involved (in the delivery of equipment, flowers, A/V etc.) by suggesting event bookers share the same suppliers for separate consecutive events and co-ordinate delivery and collection transport.
