SquareMeal Review of Keu Soho

From the same stable as Viet Grill and Cây Tre, this Soho offshoot of Old Street favourite Keu is easily spotted with its bright, green neon signage and glass windows offering a glimpse of  sleek interiors, communal tables and glistening roast meats. Top billing goes to the choice of  banh mi – Vietnamese ‘baguettes’ with traditional fillings ranging from BBQ pork and coriander or xiu mai (pork meatballs in spicy gravy) to the Keu ‘classic’ (a curious mix of mortadella, pork ‘floss’, chicken liver pâté, spiced pork belly and ham terrine). Also check out the ‘belly bowls’, ‘sloppy buns’ and Saigon noodles in broth. An ever-changing specials board adds some extra hot dishes, salads and crisp spring rolls, while Vietnamese coffee, milkshakes, smoothies and saké-based cocktails provide liquid refreshment. No bookings, although you can eat in or take away.
