About

Head to Gaucho’s Tower Bridge restaurant for some seriously stunning panoramic views of the South Bank and chow down on some truly delectable Argentinian prime cuts of beef. Gaucho by name, but not by nature – this super-suave, ‘über-masculine’ riverside steakhouse is more gloss than grasslands.

Steak fans find themselves inexorably drawn to Gaucho, where perfectly prepared slabs of prime, pampas-fed Argentinian beef are the main attraction. This eponymous chain peddles ‘the finest Argentinian steaks’, with a healthy range of cuts from more traditional rib-eyes and fillets to less-common cuadril and lomo.

Browse the different cuts before choosing your favourite, perhaps with a side of perfectly crisp chips and peppercorn sauce, washed down with a Malbec from the first-rate wine list, which is an impressive collection of Argentina’s finest reds. The Gaucho sampler is always popular with steak fans, who have described it as a ‘must-do experience’.

To counter meat fatigue, the menu offers plenty of choice from zesty ceviche of scallops with mango and yellow pepper or shrimp causita starters, to empanadas, grilled pork matambre, and dulce de leche tart for dessert.

The well-known black and white cowhide interiors have been given a sleek update with a warm earth-toned colour palette, and designer furnishings, to provide a suitably sophisticated setting for impressive dinners with a view. The odd patch of signature brushed cowhide still remain as a hat-tip to the cowboys from which the restaurant takes its name; the rest is a vision of black, glittering chandeliers and leather.

The glorious glass-fronted restaurant offers plenty of exclusive spaces for more intimate dinners with its secluded cocktail bar and private dining rooms. The collection of rooms includes a 14 seat wine room and a larger room for bigger affairs; the top floor can also be hired out to comfortably accommodate 90 guests.

Exceptional food, and views. Waiter was fantastic and informative. Was very loud due to larger groups, unfortunately felt rushed for the table back and one table next to us actually was asked to move to bar to have their dessert and final drink as they wanted the table back (despite it not even being 90 mins) for that reason it ruined the atmosphere. Again food was exceptional however. £30 service charge added on to a £200 bill for 70 mins and two people.
