About

Nigerian restaurants aren’t exactly ten-a-penny in London, which is why 280 Degrees African Restaurant & Bar is worth the trip to Kilburn High Road for anyone seeking out this particular cuisine. Located just a short walk from Kilburn tube station and Brondesbury rail station, this African restaurant is a beacon of warmth, from the vibrant interiors to the smiley staff, relaxed vibe and array of authentic Nigerian dishes on offer.

Small, but cosy, 280 Degrees is kitted out with black and orange banquette seating, along with a couple of booths for more intimate dining. Bright orange walls, mirrors and wall art help to create a feeling of friendly hospitality, which is what the owners here are all about.  Their goal is to provide a thoroughly relaxing atmosphere in which you and your friends or family can socialise and bop to Afrobeats, all the while enjoying sizzling Nigerian cuisine.

There’s plenty to choose from on the vast menu at 280 Degrees, so whether you’re just stopping by for a quick bite or up for a full-on feast, you’re sure to find something that takes your fancy. Starters include African nibbles, such as meat pie, moi moi and fried beef, African salads, grills, roasts and Igbo specials. You’ll also find a range of pepper soups and a selection of ugba – a type of African salad prepared in palm oil sauce which originates from eastern Nigeria.

Mains are just as plentiful and are laid out on a table, making it easy to see the different meats available for each dish. Whether you opt for a soup or one of the many stews, there are variety of options, including beef, chicken, goat, fried fish, dried fish and assorted meats (which include cow leg, cow skin and offal). Sides range from fried plantain to yam porridge and beans, and there are also some rice dishes and sharing platters on offer.
