Just here for world cup semis, handled huge crowds really well. Have eaten here many times, always good.

Excellent service, large size portions, good value for money.

We have dined here before with one booking using more than one tastecard and had no problems. On this occasion, when attempting to book for 8 people using 2 cards I was told categorically no. When the hostess/waitress who answered my call palmed me off on her manager (clearly perplexed by my logic of having two tables/bookings next to one another, hence separate bills) I was then greeted by utter distaste and an even less welcoming tone than the previous employee. She was rude, totally unhelpful and when asked why she couldn't put our tables next to each other just shouted at me (yes, shouted) that she WOULDN'T do it. The conversation continued for a few minutes with me trying to glean some sense from her rude replies (to no avail) – given we have done this before I don't know why they were so intent on being so unhelpful and arrogant. The conversation escalated, I asked to speak to someone more senior – at which point she screamed (note the impeccable service standards witnessed throughout!) that she “wasn't wasting anymore time talking to me” and hung up on me mid conversation. Totally disrespectful and downright rude service – I was neither impertinent nor did I raise my voice. I was trying to ascertain WHY she was refusing to make 2 bookings next to each other and in essence refusing our custom? She was a horrendous front-woman for the business. Having been a restaurant host in a huge London restaurant I can safely say there is never any cause to speak to customers this way. They need to learn how to articulate their reasoning behind refusing large party bookings using tastecard (something which they have done in the past!) without raising their voices, berating customers and indeed hanging up on them. Utterly disgraceful service – avoid at all costs. Without tastecard it's overpriced and mediocre at best (try a more authentic Thai restaurant like Mama Thai off the Walworth Road if you want delicious food and humble service!) In any case, getting past the booking stage with a tastecard is evidently too big an ask for their inarticulate and arrogant staff and definitely not worth the hassle.

We ordered a delivery of food from Thai Silk, Chicken Satay to start, it was completely raw for 80% of the meats centre, we called to complain and we were told they would call us back. Of course we waited and waited for no response, so called back again and was told they would refund us £2 – and to add injury to insult they wanted us to bring the food back as proof of their complete inability to cook a chicken satay on a meal they originally delivered! Don't do it, there are better options all over London, Eat Thai Busaba, Blue Elephant and even Marie's Cafe on Lower Marsh as a cheap local alternative.
