About Cliveden House Hotel

If you're lucky enough to be visiting Cliveden House, either for the day as a National Trust card If you're on a mission to find the crème de la crème of country venues for your next big event, Cliveden House is right at the top of the list. This stunning, sprawling house was built in 1666 by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham as a gift to his mistress, and for 350 years it has remained a must-visit of English architecture. Grade I Listed and set within 376 acres of grounds, today it's owned by the National Trust and is part of the Iconic Luxury Hotels collection, as a stand-out five-star hotel and spa.

Over the years, Cliveden has gained a reputation for being somewhat of a 'party house' and the site of many memorable nights. Historical figures who have enjoyed their own shindigs here include Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill and John Lennon, and if it's good enough for them, eh?

The team enthusiastically welcomes event bookings and there are a selection of private dining rooms available to choose between. If you were picturing an all-out, lavish celebration, the French Dining Room quite literally dazzles with gold, gilded walls. The story goes that in 1897, Viscount William Waldorf Astor was visiting Château d’Asnières, a stately home in Paris, and realised that the intricate Rococo panelling matched the dimensions of his home - and so he bought the entire room and reconstructed it at Cliveden. This historic space has enough room for 60 guests and makes for the perfect setting for a sit down dinner. The Boudoir and Tote rooms are interconnecting spaces that can be used separately or together. The Boudoir features opulent decor with capacity for between 24 to 30 people, while The Tote Room has a library style and cosy fireplace, perfect for an intimate dinner of 10 people.

If planning a corporate event or important meeting, take a look at Waldo's, a large room with multiple spaces for meetings and socialising, perfect for greeting guests, sitting down to discuss ideas, and then enjoying a few drinks afterwards. While, the Screening Room is kitted out with all the equipment you might need to host a presentation and impress clients.
