The Grill at The Dorchester (The Dorchester, 53 Park Lane, W1K 1QA)

The interior designer must have been told Robbie Burns not Aiden Byrne when they came up with the interior which is more befitting the Braveheart set than a restaurant.
That said though, the food was exemplary, the service friendly and efficient, won’t be long before he get a Michelin star again.

Mint Leaf Lounge (12 Angel Court, EC2R 7HB)

A good curry, not to heavy and nice and delicate spices.

However, the nan breads are of the size more suited to a dolls tea party and cost £5, twice the price of their sister restaurant. Cobra, £5 for a small bottle, made for an expensive night. The shouting over the loud bar area also makes for a less than convivial evening.

Hix Oyster & Chop House (36-37 Greenhill Rents, Cowcross Street, EC1M 6BN)

Keeps to Hix's magic formula, simple food done well. The best pork scratchings ever too. Despite observations to the contrary the service was efficient and attentive, although did wane a little as it got busier.
