Venue Review of The Orangery at Blenheim Palace - 'Get A Room' from Square Meal Venues & Events Magazine, Spring 2007

Home to the 11th Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Woodstock’s Blenheim Palace cuts a majestic figure in the Oxfordshire countryside. But it is only once inside the palace that its imposing splendour comes to light. The Orangery in particular emerges as an inspired fusion of grand architecture and elegant design.

Featuring ornately arched windows, a glass-panelled roof and cathartically high ceilings, the elongated space is filled with natural light and provides a stylishly graceful room for weddings and sophisticated events for up to 500 guests. Originally used as a theatre in 1789, The Orangery overlooks the private Italian gardens of the Duke of Marlborough. There is direct access onto its own terrace, which provides a striking option for summer entertaining.

Furthermore, natural decor features and traditional floor tiles pave the way through to The Orangery’s adjoining Bouchain Room. Featuring a granite-topped bar, this room is perfectly located as a breakout area and, furnished with modern bucket-style chairs, it makes the perfect modern accompaniment to The Orangery’s classic style.
