Individuality is a strong value here – each of the 44 bedrooms & suites has been specially designed by Louise Chapman, with the theme of warmth & a sense of welcome running throughout. The Castle prides itself on the friendliness of its staff & its commitment to local produce in the Michelin-starred kitchen, so fish comes from Brixham, beef from Ruby Red Devon cattle & brown bread is made from flour that is stone ground near Wells. Meanwhile, Kit Chapman’s cellar features some 260 bins – voted one of Britain’s ‘Top 10 Wine Lists’ by The Times. Event spaces are genuinely impressive & include private dining rooms, a roof garden & The Penthouse, which has panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
