To organise meetings has become a lot easier thanks to new technology and, as we discovered when we visited Broadway House’s Council Chamber, you don’t have to be a computer whiz to take advantage of the equipment available.

Capable of holding up to 110 delegates, the self-contained conference suite, which also has an adjacent reception room, has a modern-retro feel, featuring wood-panelled walls, comfy red leather chairs and large windows that let in plenty of light. The suite can be split into two, boasting huge plasma screens in both rooms.

But it’s the up-to-the-minute, computer-controlled AV system that sets the suite apart from other venues. Everything – from the PC, DVD and video to the sound, light and blinds – can be controlled by the push of a button on a wireless console. ‘No one has to fiddle with any switches when they hold a presentation,’ says Simon Watson, Broadway House’s IT manager. He continues: ‘Technical support is on hand and we always run a test before an event so nothing goes wrong.’ To top it all off, all the technology (except video conferencing) is included.
