Delfont Bar at the Prince of Wales Theatre - 'Get A Room' from Square Meal The Magazine, Spring 2006 Information:
Venues don’t come much more central than the Prince of Wales Theatre, which sits just to the east of Piccadilly Circus in the heart of London’s West End. Having emerged from a major refurbishment just two years ago, it is one of Theatreland’s finest venues, with art deco interiors reminiscent of a swish ocean liner.
Perhaps the best example of its style (and certainly the most flexible room onsite), is the Delfont Bar, which despite its name is much more than just a watering hole. An expanse of floor space is fronted by a stage, which provides a great focal point for conferences as well as dinner-dance events, when guests can take to the parquet floor immediately in front of the band or DJ. Decorated in contrasting reds, blacks and silvers, the striking room sees glitzy mirrored pillars split the space into two main areas (the one not pictured here boasts a long bar), while key features include easy access and a computer-controlled lighting system that can make the ceilings phosphorescent. All in all, a very cool space.
