Surrounded by 2,000 acres of landscaped gardens, the ornate Blenheim Palace, only eight miles from Oxford, is a picturesque setting for weddings – both inside and out. The glass-roofed Orangery has capacity for 228 for dinner and, in the summer, guests can spill out on to the terrace overlooking the Italian Garden. Winter weddings are better suited to the classic Marlborough Room, which has chandeliers, high ceilings and a large fireplace. Both are licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 300 guests. Alternatively, why not combine a Champagne reception in the Long Library with dinner in the Great Hall, also for up to 300? Catering is a strong point and wedding menus start from £56 per person (excluding venue hire).
