Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall
Located in the city centre, Sheffield City Hall is a stunning art deco building offering an imposing setting for events. Its centrepiece is the magnificent Oval Hall, a 2,271-seater auditorium with a stained-glass ceiling – a huge room with near-perfect acoustics that can be configured to suit smaller events too. The handsome 800-capacity Ballroom is ideal for dinner dances and parties, but is easily adapted to seat delegates theatre style as well. With its own private entrance, Memorial Hall lends itself just as readily to a meeting for 40 as a conference for 600. The Arches and City Bars provide attractive breakout spaces and there’s free Wi-Fi throughout the venue. Other draws include backstage access to unusual spaces for events – you can host a banquet on the famous stage. Previous events include the Liberal Democrats spring conference in 2011 and the NUS Conference 2012 (and 2013 on the way).
