Owned by Hilwood Resorts, Bovey Castle is a five-star resort located in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, yet only two hours by train from London Paddington. After a £16m overhaul in recent years, the castle offers 64 spectacular bedrooms, staterooms and suites, plus 14 three-bedroom lodges in the 450-acre grounds. Weekenders and corporate guests can all take part in a range of over 70 activities, including golf on the private 18-hole championship course, fishing, horse riding, falconry and swimming in the indoor pool, which is part of the venue’s spa. A host of fire-lit lounges and some rather magnificent reception rooms are highlights in the main house; modern meeting spaces are located in an adjacent mews building, which is also home to a multimedia theatre with facilities for satellite conferencing. The warmth of the welcome from staff is second to none.
