Bailiffscourt Hotel
This luxury hotel on the Sussex coast might look like a painstakingly restored medieval manor house – mullioned windows overlooking a rose-clad courtyard, narrow passageways leading to fire-lit lounges – but Bailiffscourt wasn’t even designed until 1927. The 39 beautifully appointed bedrooms and suites are all individually furnished and situated either in the main house or in pretty cottages, within 30 acres of private pastureland and only 200m from Climping Beach. There are seven function rooms, including two stunning private dining rooms that seat up to 40 guests. Built in the style of a Sussex barn, with attractive exposed timber frames, its destination spa offers a stylish yet inviting setting for pampering, with an extensive range of treatments. The venue also has an outdoor pool and tennis courts and the grounds have plenty of space for teambuilding events (just watch out for the peacocks).
