Tucked away in a tiny courtyard near Bank, The Don occupies the old Sandeman port cellars, where the company’s famous sherries, madeiras and ports were bottled for over 200 years. Today, its walls are adorned with seven fine abstract paintings by John Hoyland, while its charming atmosphere, top-notch modern French food and efficient service continue to win over City-based clientele. It is available for private hire on Saturdays and Sundays. The Blending Room (seating 30), White Room (60 and with a 15ft Hoyland of its own), Sandeman Room (24) and Wine Study (16) can also be hired on weekday evenings.
