The Astor Wing at Hever Castle

Square Meal Review of The Astor Wing at Hever Castle ?

This Kent abode of the young Anne Boleyn is open to the public year-round, but the hoi polloi are excluded from the Astor Wing. Built in Tudor style by William Waldorf Astor at the beginning of the 20th century, this secluded addition is connected to the original Hever Castle by a covered bridge. It houses a trio of interconnecting meeting and event rooms that together make up the oak-panelled Tudor Suite. There are 18 recently refurbished bedrooms, available on a B&B basis when the wing has not been taken as an exclusive hire. The venue’s privacy ensures that – just like the Wi-Fi – peace and tranquillity are maintained throughout. There are 600 acres of grounds to explore for adventurous sorts, with options for motorised activities – quad bikes anyone? – and sundry teambuilding pursuits, as well as the 18-hole championship course at Hever Castle Golf Club. Dinners in the main castle can also be incorporated.
