One Great George Street is a four-domed Edwardian building, just off Parliament Square, that’s as elegant inside as out. With first-class facilities and a location near to Westminster Abbey, St James’s Park and the Houses of Parliament, its collection of 23 rooms can accommodate anything from large conferences to more intimate functions. The exterior, foyer and grand staircase are made of striking Portland stone, while many of the rooms are panelled in walnut oak, with ornate plasterwork and crystal chandeliers. The venue, which was home to the London Media Centre during the 2012 Olympics, also has an in-house restaurant for 100. Private dining menus for 2015 can be arranged for groups of 10-130, and include room hire from 6.30pm until 11pm, two glasses of house wine and a three-course menu. Upgrades include sparkling wine and pre-diner canapés. Prices start at £80pp.
