Close to the town’s historic centre, it has 41 comfortable bedrooms and an underground labyrinth bar with semi-private alcoves. The Ruinart, which suits private dinners for up to 24, has a large window and double doors leading to a terrace. It can be taken with the next-door Library to extend capacity to 36. The Common room looks onto handsome Trumpington Street. Inside its walls are covered with a mural of a Greek courtyard. A plasma screen can be installed for meetings – and replaced by a frame if you’re sitting down for dinner.
