Perched beside the Grade I-listed Henley Bridge, with views over Henley Regatta’s course, this 16th-century inn has been lovingly restored, combining bags of historic character with modern facilities. Three meeting rooms, elegantly decorated with ornate plasterwork, hold between 10 and 110 delegates. A pair of intimate boardrooms convert beautifully into private dining spaces and an elegant reception room, in the hotel’s bar, is available for exclusive use. The best space for social events is the Regatta Suite, which can be hired with a marquee to accommodate weddings for up to 160 seated or 200 standing guests. During Henley Royal Regatta in July, the hotel serves up a range of hospitality packages, with great views of the Thames from the Riverside and Thamesis Suites. The Red Lion is 20 minutes from Dorney Lake, making it a good option for entertaining during the Olympic rowing.
