Adding to its collection of unusual venues, Industri Management has acquired Clerkenwell’s House of Detention, which is available as a dry-hire for events. The vast underground space, previously a
Victorian prison, is over 150 years old and has been used as a backdrop in period pieces such as Sherlock Holmes and Oliver Twist. With 9,000sq ft to play with, there’s space for exhibitions,
product launches or atmospheric dining and bare-brick interiors make it an easy venue to theme. Despite its size, under the current licence it will hold 150 seated guests or 210 standing. Access to
the venue is easy, with Farringdon rail and tube station around the corner.
