Went to Sen Sin in Camden last week after reading good reviews.
I was very disappointed. The bill came to £80 for two people, which is not a lot, but enough to have a very nice meal in most places. We had 1 plate of sashimi to share and the cheaper deal, which is meant to be two options of main, with rice and miso soup each, as long as you choose the same.
I assumed that since this was more expensive than the main meals, that it would be bigger (the main meals also come with miso and rice). But when the food came, it was essentially one small portion of each main – very tiny. So just more expensive than the main meals for nothing back.
They played loud tacky dance music the whole time, which is a bit odd for a japanese place. The service was great – the chef is very cheeky and fun, and the waiters attentive.
With two little jugs of sake and service, it came to £80, which in my view is definitely not value for money.
I hope they can take these comments on board and improve their offering, as there are few Teppaniaky places in town.
