A room with a view would be an understatement – and let's face it ,despite being backed by the founding genius behind Zuma (although this isn't Japanese and hence nothing like Zuma or Roka for that matter), you go there for its breathtaking location on the 32nd floor of the Shard. I tend to normally view these “location” driven restaurants rather sceptical with everything besides the view being a let down – and as such was actually pleasantly surprised on the positive. The menu is a rather down to earth corss-selection of various type of more “European” style food (although with some more international twists/options as well) with a big offering of grills (meat, chicken and the likes). Good wine offering and while I wouldn't consider this a place with great value for money, I've seen worse in London (and again was actually expecting worse for this place). On the other side of the floor there is a bar/loung (see my separate review)
Definetely a “destination” venue but you could do a lot worse, it's stylish, good service and given the Shard's uniqueness in London (ie luckily we don't have many high-rising buildings and this one would be remarkable in any city) a good place to take out either visitors, friends or for a special night out for two. Will you become a regular, repeat costumer – maybe not
