After the first few minutes admiring the view it's down to ambience, food, drink and service. Certainly a buzzy and busy atmosphere in large space filled with light, all very stylish and chic. Somewhat let down by the curiously dull uniforms of the staff. Shades of brown and black are not that inspiring. Managers/senior staff are in suits, white shirts but no ties. Presumably intended to be the uber-cool lunch look but ends up rather as though they've got up late and rushed to work, dressing on the way and haven't quite finished. Food was ok if a bit on the skimpy side. Starters were fine, burrata with a smidgeon of salad, seared beef was excellent and the Yellowtail Salad was another winner. Main courses were disappointing. Tiger Prawns turned out to be one Tiger Prawn cut up into four or five pieces which at £23 was a shock to the system, Had to be eaten really slowly so as not to sit for ages whilst the others finished their main course. Pork Belly was good although the crackling was limp, halibut was well cooked but uninspiring and the duck from the rotisserie was over cooked. The accompanying mango chutney was dreadful, tasteless pieces of cooked mango devoid of spicing. Accompanying vegetables were a mixed bag. Both the asparagus and broccoli were particularly good, french fries arrived tepid and the mushrooms were under-seasoned. Desserts brought smiles all round. Pavlova was a hit as was the chocolate sundae. Sorbets were adequate. Drinks and wine were all excellent. Service? Keen, enthusiastic, willing and energetic. Just a bit disorganised, I'm sure that will settle down in time. All of that plus the view cost £90 a head including 12.5% service charge. To be asked on the credit card machine if I wanted to leave a tip was something of a surprise. Mind you, if you don't ask you don't get. On this occasion they didn't get. Overall value for money? Include the view and it's average. Ignore the view and it's poor. Early days and I'm sure they'll get better. If you avoid alcohol and stick to water you can get away with £60 – £65 a head.
