Really enjoyed a dinner here recently sitting at the bar watching the very impressive kitchen at work and sometimes being served directly by the kitchen staff particularly the very skilled lady who prepared the starters and puddings. Great personal service with the Chef/owner chatting to us and discussing the food as well as being seen prowling around the restaurant and kitchen chatting to customers, cooking and checking on the dishes as they go out. We had the mega Carte Blanche menu which although a steep £95 was 14 pieces of amazing food ranging from simple but highly inventive amuse bouche to delicious pork, monkfish and my wife's favourite of exploding (in the your mouth that is unless you ignore the waiter like I did and spill it all over my coat) hot parmesan ravioli. I am not normally a pudding person but their's were sensational and beautifully crafted with delicious flavours. The only negatives were that it probably was stretched out too long for us (I was fading by the end of the 4 hours), but that was probably due more to an earlier long birthday lunch and 5.30am wake-up call, and I think there could have been a couple of cheaper bottles of wine for people like me who are not big wine buffs and want to spend my dinner budget on the delicious food. Still, as some other critic said, the prices were probably in line with standard top London wine prices.
Overall therefore a fantastic culinary experience and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind the occasional major splash out. Yes, and do always ask for the bar seats if there are two of you as it makes the whole process even more fun and interesting.
