I was looking for a restaurant to take my friend to for a surprise before we went to the theatre, for part deux of her birthday surprise, and Christophers was a surprise for both of us.
We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff on our arrival, and after climbing the gorgeous antique looking staircase we were shown to our table and handed our menus. The view from the table was perfect. With a backdrop of sunny London Town, who can complain right?
The staff were very welcoming, and couldn't have done more to make our visit comfortable, the restaurant was rather empty for the time of day that we were there, being 3pm on a Friday afternoon, which enabled us to take in the spectacular decor of the room we dined in. Our water glasses were ever empty, and the requests we had were met with a smile, quickly and efficiently.
We ordered our Apple and Raspberry Martinis, which are a must for when you do visit Christopher's as they were almost as satisfying as the food, and chose 3 courses from the Summer Menu. We simply couldn't have asked for better food. It was served quickly, and there was no room for negative comments for what we recieved as it was delicious and full of flavour. I might also add that I HIGHLY recommend the steak, my friend had the SeaBass which she also recommends. Finally, after our desert, we were served fresh tea and coffee, and were free to chat amongst ourselves while we digested.
The only thing I can really comment on that didn't give our dining experience a 10/10 was that the table water was warm, but who can complain about that with such delicious dishes…and Martinis. And if it makes any difference, the restrooms were beautifully decorated…and the hand cream smells gorgeous!!
I would highly recommend anyone to visit Christophers. It did not disappoint! A good strong 9/10 for me!
