A very disappointing lunch. Steamed mussels to start for me were OK but short on quantity. My friend had warm smoked salmon, overcooked & dry. My main was Toulouse sausage with cassoulet beans, The sausage was grey and very “dead” looking & was almost tasteless. Beans were undercooked, al dente ! My friend had kidneys swimming in a sauce which tasted as poor as they looked. This is not French cooking and is more like bad old English fare of 20 years ago.
Table very narrow. Wine list overpriced.
We should have gone back to Tuttons across the square.
PS Since writing the above comments I have spoken to a friend who works in the catering industry. He tells me that the greyness of the Toulouse sausages is due to the fact that they are out of a tin ! Yuk !
