First off, we’ve been to Chequers about 15 times in the past year, mostly for the Sunday roast. We love Sunday roasts and have toured lots of the Bath pubs and restaurants to find the ‘best’. Chequers had the best roast for us.We just had another roast here today and noticed that the menu has changed. Apparently the head chef and manager recently left and the new chef has made a few changes. To cut a long story short, the roast isn’t as good now. The beef was overcooked, there was far less of it, and the roast veg was pretty average. The gravy was watery (and now charge you £1.50 for extra gravy!), and the cheesy leeks aren’t as nice as the old cauliflower cheese. It’s still a decent roast, just no longer the best in Bath for us. And for £19.75 for the beef, it’s expensive. I’m not sure we’ll be backThe service and drinks are as good as always though.

We had the Sunday roast at the chequers, it was lovely. The food was really good at a competitive price. The staff were all very pleasant. We will definitely be going back.

We had a lovely dinner at The Chequers. I ordered the heritage tomato with pumpkin pesto and torched mozzarella as my starter and for my main course I had the pan seared fillet of hake, which was delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was the perfect end to our meal. Our bill for two people came to 100 pounds. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends visiting Bath.

The Sunday roast was amazing, probably the best we've ever had. The Camambert starter was fantastic also. Simply superb 👌. 5*
