The flavours of spring are always something to look forward to, and our new seasonal menu is just around the corner with your firm favourites alongside some new seasonal dishes. Think cheese, spinach & mushroom potato frittata, Half roast chicken with skin on chips and crispy haddock fishcake with melted smoked cheese centre to name a few.

Father's Day

Where else would be more fitting to celebrate Father’s Day? Raise a pint to all the dads out there, whilst kicking off England’s Euros campaign with us. With our range of real ales and craft beers, our two course Father’s Day menu, and England vs. Serbia shown live from 8pm, you’re all set for a great celebration.

Soak up our friendly service and homely charm when nestled in this welcoming pub located in the heart of Stanpit village on Dorset’s south coast. Here at the Ship in Distress, we are the perfect retreat to sit back, relax and indulge in our delicious food with the perfect drink in hand.
We love our coastal location and our bar pays tribute to this with a fittingly traditional nautical theme! Dogs are welcome and we’ve got a large car park for visitors and plenty of seating space.

Christchurch Harbour
We’re just a few minutes’ walk from Christchurch Harbour, famous for its fishing, walking and bird watching (Christchurch Harbour Ornithological Group has recored over 320 bird species at the harbour and it’s home to three sailing clubs!).
At its Northwest corner two rivers flow into the harbour the river Avon and the Stour and is a site of special scientific interest (SSSI).
