The Orange Tree, located on the fashionable coastal strip of north-west Norfolk, is as popular with the food-loving locals as with urban escapees. It combines the best traditions of a proper English inn with the sleekness of an urban brasserie. The eclectic menu uses lots of locally landed fish (including Thornham oysters, of course) alongside simpler meat & veggie dishes, while the specials board delivers confit belly pork, lobster thermidor & authentic chicken masala. The eye-catching, light wood bar with jazzy flower arrangements to one side & the smart restaurant area with stylised table settings, offer two quite contrasting looks. Outside, the sunny courtyard features an exotic barbecue with a char-grilled menu, while upstairs six bedrooms bring the coast inside with a distinctly beach hut feel.
