Cinnamon

The extremely popular and award-winning Cinnamon has become a star of the Aberdeen’s eating-out scene since it opened in 2005. The usual menu (pakora, kebab, samosa, bhuna, rogan josh, and more) is bolstered with interesting choices such as crab and red onion dosa starter, and mains of apricot lamb or prawns in sweet lemon and chilli. Branding itself ‘nouvelle Indian cuisine’, it certainly makes an effort to escape the constraints of the traditional curry house, but the food is mostly competent rather than truly exciting. Service can be patchy, but the warm, modern decor is a nice contrast to the generally cold and wet weather outside.
