Square Meal Review of The Bonham ?

A chic, boutique hotel in a row of Victorian residences, just a stroll from Princes Street, The Bonham is a big player on the Edinburgh scene, with a rather swish restaurant to match. Traditional fabrics and contemporary fittings set the scene, while the cooking is now in the hands of former sous chef Maciej Szymik. Modern French cuisine still rules the roost, so a typical three-course dinner might run from smoked haddock boudin with cauliflower, raisin and curry foam, via braised beef cheeks with mash, curly kale and bordelaise sauce to lemon curd with raspberry meringue, fennel and yoghurt ice cream. There are also fixed-price, express deals for the business crowd, and a popular ‘boozy snoozy’ special for tables of four at lunchtime (Wed-Sun) and Thursday evenings (£90 for three courses and two bottles of wine).
