Square Meal review of Boat Inn:

Persevere with the winding lanes & little signposting for this remote pub by the River Dee. It’s easy to see why the lawns by the water are a must for wedding photos, & once up the steep stone steps & into the oak-beamed bar, you’re in danger of wanting to stay forever, especially if the fire is lit. Meals, served in the conservatory dining room, are listed on a mod-Brit a la carte available all year round & there's a set menu from September to Christmas (£25 per head, including a bottle of wine for two people). Try the chicken Caesar salad or the pan-fried salmon on a bed of puy lentils. Good incidentals include Erbistock-made ice-cream, while Sunday lunch is a traditional two- or three-course affair.
