Ten minutes walk from the city centre and close to Cardiff University, this popular neighbourhood restaurant regularly wins praise for its modern, unpretentious take on the finest Welsh ingredients, from its imaginative 'taste of Wales' platters to main courses such as seafood cawl with spinach and saffron potatoes or fillet of sirloin of Welsh Black beef with mushrooms, roast tomatoes and onions and gratin potatoes. Finish with a fine selection of Welsh cheeses or a dessert with an equally strong Welsh theme - perhaps caramelized lemon and Welsh honey tart with Bower Farm clotted cream or para brith bread and butter pudding.
