Square Meal review of The Angel:

There’s a notable tradition for fish dishes at this former pub which has upgraded itself to a restaurant. While the pronounced flavour of the Pacific Rim is to be tasted in some dishes, there is a down-to-earth British robustness about many of the others - cullen skink, for instance, smoked haddock with leek mash or (perfect for dieters!) black pudding with deep-fried haggis. Eat either in the sunny conservatory or amid comfortable antique furnishings in the bar.
