Square Meal Review of The Pint Shop ?

In the heart of Cambridge’s burgeoning restaurant district, The Pint Shop may have gone super-retro with its 1830s ‘beer house’ theme, but the decor owes much to laid-back modernity with polished wooden floors, plain oak tables, bright lighting and muted colour schemes. A blackboard advertising around 15 local ales welcomes drinkers in the airy front parlour, whilst the adjoining snug should suit those sampling the 40-plus range of gins and malt whiskies. Soak up the booze at one of the propping-up points with substantial bar snacks such as Scotch eggs and sausage rolls, but for the full works, head through to the two dining rooms where spit-roasted and charcoal-grilled meats such as ox-cheeks dominate retro menu. Cheery service should keep young professionals and students happy in the evenings, while the central location brings shoppers and theatregoers.

Last week, my husband and I decided to have Sunday lunch and off we went to Cambridge, eagerly anticipating our meal. We arrived at noon (their opening time) so we were the first to arrive and be seated. We were shown to a nice table for two near the impressive beer matrix...
